Tuned Global named a finalist in the AFR BOSS Most Innovative Companies 2026

Written by Virginie Chelles | 23 Oct, 2026

Proud moment for Tuned Global, shortlisted in the top 10 of Australia’s most innovative technology companies, and the only one from the music industry!
Tuned Global has been recognised as a finalist in the Technology – Software category of The Australian Financial Review BOSS 2026 Most Innovative Companies, in partnership with KPMG. Founder and CEO Con Raso explains why, for Tuned Global, innovation only counts when it improves outcomes for clients.

Now in their 15th year, the AFR BOSS Most Innovative Companies recognise Australian organisations turning new ideas into real commercial results. Judging is run in partnership with KPMG Australia. Con Raso, Chief Revenue Officer Spiro Arkoudis and VP Head of Global Marketing and Communications Virginie Chelles represented Tuned Global at the awards evening in Sydney.

"Great music experiences take more than a catalogue. They need reliable technology, an understanding of music and ways to help people discover something they'll love. Being named an AFR finalist recognises the team that has brought those pieces together to build a global business," said Con Raso, Founder and CEO, Tuned Global.

Innovation tied to commercialisation

"One of the speakers on the night said the difference between R&D and innovation is that innovation is tied to commercialisation. We always keep that at the front of our mind: how do the new technologies we're developing get better commercial outcomes for our clients? This nomination belongs to the whole team, and to their commitment to pushing the boundaries of what we can do, and doing it really well with our clients at heart," Con Raso said.

From music infrastructure to music intelligence

Tuned Global's Music Cloud platform now manages around 220 million tracks and 40 billion sets of rights. Through 500+ APIs, it brings together music infrastructure and AI-powered music intelligence, covering catalogue management, delivery, search, personalised recommendations and discovery. Businesses use it to build music into streaming services, airlines, telcos, gaming, kids tech, connected devices, medtech and more.

Customers include e& (formerly Etisalat), lululemon, Delta Air Lines, Gabb Music and LINE MUSIC. The company was built in Australia, and today more than 95 per cent of its business is overseas. Its team is just as global, with people in Melbourne, Sydney, London, Stockholm, Orlando and San Francisco.

Some of the work behind the recognition

  • Protecting streaming integrity. Our Streaming Service Manipulation Detection solution helps streaming services and rights holders detect bots, click farms and suspicious listening activity, so they can rely on their royalty and chart reporting.
  • Music designed for children. The Music Cloud Platform powers Gabb Music alongside Gabb's own curation and safety technology to deliver an age-appropriate listening experience. Gabb Music has been recognised by the Times.
  • Advancing music intelligence. Our acquisition of Figaro.ai strengthened our AI music analysis and tagging. It builds on our AI mixing work through AutomixIQ and our social listening work through Social Radio. With TunedIQ, we're combining music understanding, search and personalised recommendations to help listeners discover more of the music they love.

Congratulations to our fellow finalists and winners. Thank you to the Australian Financial Review and KPMG Australia, to our customers and partners for their trust, and to our team around the world.
